101 in 1001 – #53
This weekend I had a photo shoot with my best friend and her new husband at sunrise. Man, getting up at 4:45 a.m. was a bit tough… but it was so worth it. I asked each of them to tell me the thing they loved most about the other, and interestingly enough, they both had the same answer. They love how the other one treats him/her. I can honestly say that when I’m with them, I can see how well they treat each other. It’s not just because I’m there… they have such a deep love, bond, and mutual respect for one another. They treat each other as equal partners, and are so thoughtful with one another. It warms my heart to see my BFF so happy! I picked a couple of favorites to share…

Beyond Layers: Day 25
How cool is this image? I know, right? Pretty dang spectacular… I even amazed myself with this one. So I signed up for a 30 day free trial at Rad Lab… Ummmm, can you say YUM? So fun! I used the Red B&W filter on my image (who knew it was possible to have a red b&w filter?)… then I used the Crack, Boom, Pow action from Yellow Sky Actions (Oh, they are soooo tempting and yummy, but I have not succumbed to purchasing any…yet). I added Kim Klassens “I Am” texture at multiply blend mode with 100% opacity, then again a second time at 69% opacity. I really wanted to add some text to this image, but it really seemed to want to stand alone with what I’ve already done to it. I love playing in Photoshop. It makes me so happy. Much better than watching t.v. (although everyone seems to be watching Jersey Shore, and forgive me, but I don’t have any clue who or what Snookie is other than it sounds like the name of a poodle). I apologize for not posting the meta data for the original shot. I’m sure it’s in Adobe Bridge somewhere, and I just switched over from ACDSee to Bridge, so I’m still getting my feet wet. Just when you think you’re starting to grasp anything in photography or design, you learn that you haven’t…. I guess that’s the beauty of it, eh?
