I must be crazy to attempt Project Life again this year. I only made it to week 6 or 7 in 2012. Epic fail. I’ve spent so much time on photography and other things that I haven’t really done anything in gathering those memories into an album. Which is something I totally love. So, I’ll try again this year. I was completely stumped on whether or not to use Becky Higgins’ sets or my own personal stash of supplies from various artists. I really hate too many patterned papers, polkadots, etc. I prefer a more grungy (obviously), yet somewhat timeless look to my layouts. Thank you PINTEREST! I found a ton of great ideas. I pretty much lifted this layout.
I used Katie Perteit’s papers and Sherwood Studio designs metal alphabet. I’d love to post credit every single page I do, but omg, that’s just a pain in the creative process. If anyone ever wants to know where I got the papers/products, shoot me a comment and I’ll go back & look it up.
I did use Becky Higgins’ layouts for PL, but I increased the size of the background paper to 12.5 inches. Costco is really cheap for putting albums together, but I have found that sometimes things can get cut off that I don’t want cut off. This just gives me a little extra border for bleed without cropping into my masks for elements & photos, etc. Shutterfly is better quality, but Costco is just better cost wise. Especially if you have more than Shutterfly’s allotted 20 pages.
I thought this would be a great way to incorporate my one little word for 2013 as well. I think. Not 100% sure. But it makes sense. Why save up a bunch of digital images for OLW from several different years to print a digital album. I thought I’d do it the old-fashioned way by hand. Meh. Pass. Maybe I just have too much dang creative projects out there on the table altogether.
I love the title page! Don’t worry about last year…if at first you don’t succeed and all…
