I’ve never done a newborn shoot before. I’ve read articles on how-to, studied endless shots online, and purchased some items in preparation for the shoot of my granddaughter. WOW! I have so much respect for the newborn photog pros! It is SO NOT easy to shoot a newborn. The first go around, Brielle was totally awake. I did a set up of various props I’d been collecting. I didn’t get the look I was going for at all. So after I gave up to do the shoot a different day, she decided to fall asleep after we’d gotten her dressed. So of course I had to slay the inner-beast-obsession I have with getting the perfect shot! I think I got it. I love this image of her! I used Kim Klassen’s textures: perfectly pink & mayzee to get a little more of the look that’s my style. Love it. Love her.
The minute I held this little angel, all my fears of being a “grandma” disappeared. She is heaven on earth. I’m so happy we have her in our lives. So I’m still young and a grandma. Who cares? I adore my children and now my grandchild as well! At the end of the day, family is all that matters.

She is beautiful! As is your shot of her. Is there anything sweeter than a sleeping child? Congrats!
