When I read this week’s photo challenge was purple, I about fell out of my chair with enthusiasm! I have several images with purple in them that I’ve been wanting to process… all three here were taken in Las Vegas (or on my way there)… I have more images I’d like to process and/or take, but this is how far I got. The first two images were shot in the garden at the Bellagio Hotel. Sigh. I love it there. I could lose myself in that hotel forever.
The third was taken on the way to Las Vegas, and is actually the dividing point between Arizona and Nevada through Lake Mead. My photography group (the AZ Photographer’s Group) had their daily challenge “paths” the other day; I instantly thought of posting this one for that challenge. I love the purple majestic mountain range with the deep blue path of water flowing through.
Granted, I didn’t go out and shoot the images specifically for these challenges, however, it got me moving to get them processed and posted! I think this brings me down to 38 more images to load in my RedBubble portfolio. Perhaps I’ll even get them loaded on my website as well. The bummer about photography is all of the nitty gritty work that has to be done to get them out there and available for clients. NOT the most exciting part. A necessary evil, and honestly it’s really not THAT bad. I’d just rather be spending my time behind the camera instead of in front of the computer. I’m sure most photographers say the same thing.
As always, just click directly on any one of the images below to be taken directly to my portfolio.
“Purple Calla Lily”
“Impatiens”
“Path”

thank you for your tips! useful for me
You are more than welcome!
Interesting blog post. Personally, I rather like processing images on the computer. It surely beats the old days, being stuck in the darkroom for hours on end.
I never did that, but I can only imagine! I think digital gives us so much more freedom! I’ve yet to jump into the HDR world, but I’d like to very soon. Photoshop is one of our greatest modern inventions, in my opinion. Thanks for taking the time to stop by & drop me a note!

Beautiful pictures. Great post.
Thank you so much for stopping by to leave a compliment. I appreciate your thoughtfulness! I hope you’re having a great week!
Love the calla lily, but then I have a lily partiality. Your pics are always beautiful. I was one of those geeks that hung out in the dark room at college. I only had one class and realized that I’m not that great a photographer, but I loved it. I certainly might become better, if I gave it the time. Maybe in my next life…
Awh, thanks, M! I used to think that I had no talents whatsoever. I compared myself to athletes, my parents’ musical abilities, etc., but learned in time that I should only do the things I love and enjoy. I get discouraged every now and then since I have friends who are superior to my photography abilities, but then remind myself that most of them are landscape photographers. I’m still finding myself, and enjoying the search for the time being. You’re the best!
