I’ve posted a few of my shots from my trip to Las Vegas, and I haven’t even come close to processing them all. I haven’t even reviewed them much since I’ve been home. (I should add that to my list of goals.) My AZ Photographer’s Group has a group page on Facebook with themed posts… yesterday and today are “glass.”
This first one is Chihuly’s installation at The Bellagio. It is one of my favorite places to sit & stare for hours! So spectacular! I added a vintage action from Yellow Sky Actions, of course my MCP standard Snap, Crackle & Pop actions, as well as Kim Klassen’s “seriousmagic” and “spill_it” textures. As far as the Metadata goes: 50mm fixed lens at f/1.4, ISO 200, and 1/8s (which really shocked me… how did I get that hand-held shot at such a long exposure? I had to look at it several times to make sure it wasn’t 1/80s… but it’s 1/8s).
This second shot was taken WAY back in 2009 at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. I had to share it with my group for the glass category as well. It’s a closeup of one of Chihuly’s trees. I know, a glass tree! The man is such a talented artist. He blows my mind! The metadata is f/5.7, ISO 100, 1/80s. Not much processing on this one other than a little sharpening via MPC’s Snap & Crackle actions, and a little curves adjustment for some extra POP! Both shots were taken with a Nikon D60.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! And for all you shooters out there, I hope you’ve got a fantastic subject in front of you! As for me, I’m going to go on a hunt for something purple for this week’s WordPress photo challenge. Happy shooting!
